The predictions feature is now available by default to any channel that has Channel Points enabled!
Predictions allow streamers (and their moderators!) to create interactive events for their streams to let viewers put their Channel Points on the line.
How to enable predictions
Predictions are available to all channels that have their Channel Points enabled. Learn more here.
How do I create a prediction
Streamers and their moderators can start a prediction by using the /prediction
chat command. A prediction setup modal will appear.
Enter your prediction title, the two possible outcomes and the length of the voting period. If you have any previous predictions, you'll be able to select them from the "Past history predictions" drop down to quickly pre-fill these fields. Once filled, you can start the prediction.
How do I manage predictions
As a streamer or moderator, you can manage predictions in real time by using the /prediction
chat command whenever there is a running prediction.
There are two different views you will potentially see:
While the voting period is still open — you'll be able to delete the prediction (which will refund all points) or end submissions early.
When the voting period has closed — you'll be able to delete the prediction (which will refund all points) or proceed to choose the outcome of the prediction.
⚠️ Note: Moderators who have participated in a prediction won't be able to manage that prediction.
How do I resolve a prediction
After clicking "Choose outcome" on the "Manage prediction" modal, you'll proceed to a screen where you can select the correct outcome of the prediction. Channel Points will be distributed proportionately to the viewers who predicted correctly.
If you do not select an outcome within 24 hours, all points will be refunded.
