Guide to Channel Points for Streamers

Channel Points is a powerful tool that allows Streamers to create a personalized rewards program and offer Viewers unique perks. At launch, it is available to all Viewers.

Channel Points enables you to offer custom rewards that you manage. This gives your community a deeper connection to your stream and access to exclusive benefits. At this time, only custom rewards are available.

However, we plan to continue building on this product and introduce more features in the future.

Channel Points Management

Channel Points allows you to reward your loyal Viewers for watching your stream. This program adds an extra layer of entertainment by allowing Viewers to spend their points on fun rewards that enhance their community experience.

Channel Points is an opt-in program available to all Viewers. You can manage your program through the Streamer Dashboard. To enable Channel Points, toggle the Channel Points option.

Managing Your Rewards

After enabling Channel Points, a section will appear where you can manage your rewards. You can customize your rewards in the Custom Rewards section under Channel Points in the Streamer Dashboard.

Here, you can add, enable, and disable custom rewards. Currently, you can have a maximum of 15 rewards.

Custom Rewards

Custom rewards are rewards you fulfill yourself. These can be as creative as you like. For example, you can allow Viewers to request a song or choose the next game mode you play.

You must follow the Channel Points Terms and Conditions when creating rewards.

Add custom rewards through the Manage Rewards section in the Streamer Dashboard.

Click Create New to open the modal and create a new custom reward.

On this creation screen, provide a clear title and description for each reward, and customize the background color.

You can require Viewers redeeming a reward to provide text for additional information. Remember that responses are shown in chat, so you must not request or provide personal information.

Redeemed custom rewards appear in your Activity Feed on your Streamer Dashboard. You can access your rewards queue from the Streamer Dashboard by enabling the Reward Request Queue widget.

Use this queue to manage requests.

Mark requests as Complete when fulfilled. If you Reject a request, the points are refunded. You can also pause redemptions.

Have Your Moderators Help

Your Moderators can also mark rewards as complete, reject rewards, and pause redemptions for you. Moderators have access to your rewards queue by using the Reward Request Queue widget in your channel’s Moderator Dashboard.
