Channel Points is a powerful tool that allows streamers to create a personalized rewards program, offering viewers unique perks. On release, it's available to all users.
Channel Points enables you to offer custom rewards that you manage. This provides your community with a deeper connection and a taste of exclusive benefits. At this time, only custom rewards are available, however, we plan to continue to build on this product and introduce more features in the future.
Channel Points Management
Channel Points allows you to reward your loyal viewers for watching your stream. This program adds an extra layer of entertainment, allowing viewers to spend their points on fun rewards that enhance their community experience.
Channel Points is an opt-in program available to all users. You can manage your program through the Creator Dashboard. To enable Channel Points, toggle the "Channel points" option.
Managing Your Rewards
After enabling Channel Points, a section will appear that allows you to manage your rewards. Customize your rewards through the "Custom rewards" section under "Channel Points" in the Creator Dashboard.
Here, you can add and enable/disable custom rewards. Currently, you can have a maximum of 15 rewards.
Custom Rewards
Custom rewards are rewards you fulfill yourself. These can be as creative as you'd like, for example, allowing users to request a song or choose the next game mode you play. You must adhere to the Channel Points Terms and Conditions when determining rewards.
Add custom rewards via the "Manage Rewards" section in the Creator Dashboard. Click "Create new" to open the modal to create a new custom reward.
In this creation screen, provide a clear title and description for each reward and customize the background color.
You can require redeemers to provide text for additional information. Remember that responses are shown in chat, so you must not request or provide personal information.
Redeemed custom rewards appear in your Activity Feed on your Stream Dashboard. Access your rewards queue from the Stream Dashboard by enabling the "Rewards request queue" widget. Use this queue to manage requests.
Mark requests as "Complete" when fulfilled. If you "Reject" a request, points are refunded. You can also pause redemptions.
Have Your Mods Help
Your moderators can also mark rewards as complete, reject rewards and pause redemptions for you! Mods have access to your rewards queue by using the rewards queue widget in the moderator dashboard of your channel.
