International payments and currency handling on KICK

If you are a Streamer outside the United States, this guide covers what you need to know about getting paid on KICK — currencies, conversion, country support, and how international payments work.

What currency does KICK use?

KICK tracks Streamer earnings based on the currency conversion applied at the time the subscription is made. This means the amount is converted when the viewer completes the subscription, not later when the payout is processed.

In Stripe, your balance is displayed in your native/local currency rather than USD. When your payout is processed, the amount shown in Stripe is paid out in that same local currency, subject to Stripe’s payout process and any applicable fees or adjustments.

Currency conversion fees

If your bank account uses a different currency than USD, Stripe applies a 1.50% currency conversion fee when your payout is processed.

Good news: KICK absorbs this fee. You receive your full payout converted at real-time rates without the conversion fee being deducted. This means you get the full value of your earnings, regardless of where you live.

💡 Some banks may add their own foreign exchange or receiving fees on top of Stripe's conversion. Those fees are outside KICK's control. Check with your bank to understand the full cost of receiving international payments.

Supported countries

To receive payouts on KICK, your country needs to be supported by Stripe (since Stripe is our payout partner).

If your country is not supported by Stripe, you will not be able to receive payouts at this time. We are continuing to work with our payment partners to expand availability.

Regional pricing

KICK uses flat $5 subscriptions globally, in all supported countries. There is no regional pricing — every subscription, gifted sub, and KICKs purchase is denominated in USD at the same global price.

This keeps things simple for both Streamers and Viewers, and ensures every subscriber contributes the same support to their favourite Streamers regardless of where they live.

Setting up international payments

The process is the same as for US Streamers:

  1. Log in to your KICK account

  2. Visit your Streamer Dashboard

  3. Complete Stripe identity verification with your local documents and bank details

For full setup details, see How to Verify your identity with Stripe.

When entering your bank account during Stripe setup:

  • Use your legal name as it appears on your government ID (Stripe will reject mismatches)

  • Enter your address as it appears on your bank documents

  • Use your bank's correct currency code for the country your account is in

If you have an account in a different country than your residence, you may need additional documentation to verify the relationship between you and that account.

Tax considerations for international Streamers

Different countries have different tax obligations for streaming income. KICK provides 1099 tax forms for US Streamers when applicable, but tax reporting outside the US is your responsibility.

⚠️ KICK is not a tax advisor. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional in your country to understand your specific obligations.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my conversion rate different from what I see online?

Stripe uses real-time conversion rates, which may differ slightly from rates you see on Google or financial news sites. Stripe publishes their rate calculation methodology on their website. KICK absorbs the 1.50% conversion fee, so the rate you receive reflects market value without the fee being deducted.

My country is not supported. When will it be?

We are continuing to expand our payment partnerships and will announce updates as they happen. If you would like to be notified, follow KICK on social media for product announcements.

Can I use a friend or family member's bank account in a supported country?

No. Your Stripe account must be in your name and verified with your government-issued ID. Using someone else's account is a violation of our Terms and Stripe's policies.

What if my country uses USD already (e.g., Ecuador, Panama, El Salvador)?

If your country's official currency is USD, no conversion fees apply.
