Stripe and tax forms
KICK uses Stripe to process payouts. Depending on your country, Stripe may also collect tax information during your verification process. This may include:
A W-9 form (US residents)
A W-8 form or equivalent (non-US residents)
Stripe uses this information to comply with local tax regulations. If your information changes (for example, if you move countries), update it in Stripe to avoid issues with future payouts.
For more, see How to Verify your identity with Stripe.
⚠️ KICK is not a tax advisor. The information below is general guidance, not legal or tax advice. Tax laws are complex and vary by country, region, and personal situation. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional in your country to understand your specific obligations.
US Streamers and 1099 forms
KICK issues 1099-NEC forms to US-based Streamers whose total payouts during a calendar year reach the reporting threshold.
Reporting thresholds:
Tax year | Reporting threshold | Form issued |
2025 | $600 | 1099-NEC |
2026 | $2,000 | 1099-NEC |
If your total KICK payouts in a calendar year are below the threshold for that year, KICK does not issue a 1099 to you. 1099s for the previous tax year are issued in late January or early February.
For full details on 1099s, see 1099 Tax Information.
Withholding tax for KICK Partners
If you are a KICK Partner, KICK may withhold taxes from the fees payable to you where required by applicable law. The amount withheld is calculated based on the information you have provided and the relevant tax regulations.
To avoid unnecessary withholding, make sure your tax information in Stripe is accurate and up to date. Failure to provide required tax information may result in additional withholdings.
For full details, see the KICK Partner Program Terms.
