When you take your first steps into livestreaming, it's natural to want to understand how you can financially support your work. On KICK, Streamers are valued, and it is important that those creating entertainment have the opportunity to monetise it.
That's where subscriptions come in. Once you reach KICK Streamer status, you can enable paid subscriptions and earn a fair share of the revenue your content generates.
What is a KICK Streamer?
A KICK Streamer is a creator who has streamed for at least 5 hours on KICK. Reaching Streamer status unlocks paid subscriptions on your channel, so your community can support your content directly.
With Streamers receiving 95% of the subscription revenue they generate through the 95/5 split, subscriptions can help you build your channel and reinvest your time and earnings into your content. For more, see Understanding KICK's revenue split.
Requirements to become a KICK Streamer
To become eligible, you need to:
Stream for at least 5 total hours
The 5-hour requirement is cumulative, so you can build up your hours by streaming for shorter periods over multiple days.
How to check your progress
You can track your progress in the Achievements section of your dashboard:
Log in to your KICK account
Open your dashboard
Go to Achievements
There, you can see how many hours you still need before you reach Streamer status.
How to enable subscriptions
Once you meet the requirement, the Enable Subscriptions button becomes available in your Streamer Dashboard.
Click Enable Subscriptions and follow the setup steps to start receiving subscriptions.
What comes next: verification and the KICK Partner Program
Reaching Streamer status is your first milestone. As your channel grows, you can work towards the next steps:
Verified Streamer: unlocks additional benefits once you meet the verification requirements. See How to become a Verified Streamer on KICK.com.
KICK Partner Program: open to verified Streamers who meet the Partner requirements. See How to join the KICK Partner Program.
Benefits of being a KICK Streamer
The main benefit of reaching Streamer status is the ability to enable paid subscriptions.
Creating engaging content and maintaining a channel with a strong average viewership takes effort. Subscriptions help reward that work by allowing regular Viewers to support your channel and build a stronger connection with you.
You can also create incentives for gifted subscriptions, helping encourage a more engaged audience and giving your community more ways to support your channel.
More tips to grow your channel
Reaching Streamer status may be one of your first goals, but your focus should remain on your content and community, not only on meeting the minimum requirements. Keep looking for ways to grow your streaming stats, including CCV, active Chatters, and followers.
Build a brand
As a Streamer, you are the face of your channel. Your personality, content style, and community experience all contribute to your brand.
Find your streaming niche and use your personality as part of your identity. KICK offers a wide range of streaming categories, from Just Chatting to live music and more.
Use social media to interact with your fans and potential Viewers. For more, see Building your channel branding on KICK.
Invest in quality streaming gear
A reliable streaming setup is important for building and engaging your audience. You don't need the most expensive equipment to get started, but having the basics can improve the quality of your stream and help your channel feel more professional.
Think about your audience
Your streaming schedule should reflect your audience. Keep a regular schedule so your Viewers know when to find you. Your VODs can give loyal fans something to watch when they can't join your livestreams.
For more, see Stream scheduling and consistency best practices.
Make the most of resources and support
You don't have to build your channel alone. Connect with other Streamers, ask for advice, and make use of KICK's guides and news.
