About KICK
KICK is a livestreaming platform for people aged 13 and older. On KICK, people can express themselves, find like-minded communities, and connect with Streamers and other Viewers.
At KICK, our Streamers are the stars of the show and represent a wide range of talents and creativity. On any given visit to the website, you may find Streamers playing games, showcasing their artistic skills, hosting podcasts, and much more.
Although we have many Streamers, most people on KICK are here to watch and interact with their favorite Streamers and other Viewers. KICK is available on both web and mobile platforms and is free to use, whether or not someone has registered an account.
Age restrictions
People who are 13 years old, or 16 in Europe, or older but under the age of majority where they reside, which is 18 in most jurisdictions, may only use KICK with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to KICK’s Terms of Service.
Children under 13 may not use KICK. We are strict in upholding these age restrictions. If you are aware of someone under the age of 13 using the KICK platform, please contact us to let us know.
If you are a parent or legal guardian of a registered KICK account holder aged 13 to 17 and do not consent to their use of our platform, you can contact us at [email protected] to request guidance on account closure. If you require further assistance closing an account, we may require additional information for verification purposes. When emailing, please include any relevant information that can help us identify the account.
Proactive content moderation
KICK provides certain customisation options for people on the platform, but not everyone will know how to find these settings. For this reason, we have a dedicated team that helps find and remove inappropriate content from the website.
This team uses a range of tools and processes to help prevent misconduct before it happens on KICK.
Unfortunately, not all abuse can be automatically detected, so we ask everyone to report violations of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Once we receive a report, a member of our Support Team will review it. Our Support Team is available 24/7/365 and responds to support-related inquiries as quickly as possible.
Stream moderation
As a parent or guardian, before your teen begins streaming, we recommend visiting their chat settings page to set up rules and add blacklisted phrases in the chat filter section. This page will continue to be updated over time to help provide the highest level of safety for Streamers.
Staying clear of potential dangers
Subscriber incentives or bribes
Viewers may ask other Viewers or Streamers to perform certain actions for subscriptions, money, or as a dare. While this may seem harmless, these types of activities should be avoided.
If you encounter someone asking a minor to do sexually suggestive or explicit things, report it immediately to [email protected]. If we are able to confirm that something has occurred, we will take appropriate action, which may include suspending the offender and potentially reporting the matter to law enforcement.
Personally identifiable information
Sharing identifying information about other people is against KICK’s Community Guidelines. The best way to avoid this is to not share any personal information online.
Information to avoid sharing includes, but is not limited to:
Full name
Full names of friends and family
Address, town, or city
Name or location of school
Personal or family phone numbers
Social media handles
Passwords
Credit card, debit card, bank account, or other financial information
Social Security number or driver’s license number
Any other personal data
Impersonation and phishing
Some people may create accounts to impersonate or mimic well-known people, such as Streamers or staff. This is usually done to steal passwords, donations, or subscriptions. To do this, they may share phishing links that ask the victim to enter their account details into a fake website.
As a preventative measure against phishing links, make sure the option Allow viewers to post links in the chat is unchecked in your chat settings:
For links shared in other chats, make sure the link is legitimate and that you are on the correct website before entering any information.
The most common forms of impersonation involve verified accounts or staff. A legitimate verified account on KICK will have a verified checkmark next to the name on their profile, and legitimate KICK Staff will have the KICK Staff badge in chat.
Spam bots
Spam bots are automated accounts that usually appear in large numbers and send high volumes of unwanted messages. You can often identify them by repetitive messages or advertisements for suspicious services.
One of the easiest ways to help prevent this is to enable followers-only mode in your Streamer Dashboard:
Under the Channel Actions section, you can turn this on and set how long someone must be following before they can chat.
