KICK Events: a Guide for Streamers

A KICK Event is more than a normal stream and is content that gives viewers a clear reason to show up live. The Event page is a dedicated page that brings multiple streamers together, and instead of hunting for individual channels, viewers get a single destination where they can watch the host and participants together, including in multiview.

You keep streaming on your own channel like always, and the event pulls your stream into one shared experience alongside everyone else taking part. It's a great way to reach new viewers and be part of something bigger.

How to Apply to Host an Event

Got something that would make a great event? You can apply through the KICK events application portal, and everything you need to know about applying lives on that page: https://streamer.kick.com/events#apply

If your event is approved, the KICK team will reach out with the next steps and anything they need from you to get your event set up, like your images and event details. They'll guide you through the whole thing, so you're never figuring it out on your own.

How your stream shows up in an event

For your stream to appear in an event, a few things need to be true at the same time:

  • You're on the event's member list, either added directly or because you accepted an invite.

  • The event is published and currently running.

  • You're streaming in the event's category.

  • Your stream title includes one of the event's keywords, unless the event was set up without keywords.

💡 Because you have to be invited to take part, random streamers can't jump into an event just by adding a keyword to their title.

What controls do I have as an Event Host?

Managing who takes part

If you're hosting, you manage participants from the Members tab in the Events section of your Creator Dashboard:

  • Direct invite: search for a username and send them an invite

  • Invite link: share the link, and people join by accepting it

Keep in mind that you can't add banned users.

You can also promote a participant to moderator using Change Role. This comes in handy for collaborators helping you run the show.

Sending Event Announcements

As a host, you have the ability to send announcements to your viewers directly from your Creator Dashboard. Announcements appear as a pop-up on the event page around the player area, so your viewers know there’s an update from you.

  • Message or message with CTA - Send a simple message, or include a call to action that directs viewers to set their multiview to specific channels in your event.

  • Queue up to 5 - You can queue up to 5 announcements at a time, with 1 announcement live at any one time.

  • Set the duration - Choose how long each announcement stays live on the event page.

Setting your stream order

Stream order lets you control what viewers see first when they land on your event page. You choose the primary and secondary streams that appear in the default multiview.

To set your stream order:

  1. Open your event in the Creator Dashboard

  2. Go to the Stream order tab

  3. Search for a channel and add it. The order of the channels sets the priority, with the first channel shown as the primary stream and the second as the secondary

Keeping your event running smoothly

A few things to keep in mind while your event is live:

  • Everyone taking part needs to stream in the event's category while they're actively involved.

  • If you step away for a bit, like sleeping or doing something else, switch your category (for example, to Just Sleeping) so the event page stays clean.

  • If everyone steps out at once, the event will show as off-air. That's expected, so no need to worry.

  • Need someone added back into the event? Reach out to KICK Support, and they'll sort it out.

Changing your event details

Your event's title, description, category, images and timing are read-only on your side. If you need any of these changed, contact your KICK contact, and they'll update it for you.

Share your link

Sharing your event link on your own socials is honestly one of the best ways to bring viewers in. If you want a big turnout, post it everywhere your audience hangs out.
