How we feature channels

Featuring is how we help Viewers discover great live content on KICK, through homepage placement, category highlights, and language and region-specific promotion. Here’s how featuring works, who’s eligible, and what featuring is (and isn’t).

How featuring decisions are made

Our team curates featured placements using a mix of signals, including:

  • Recent audience growth and engagement trends

  • Content quality and how well it fits its category

  • Community health on your channel (chat quality, moderation history)

  • Compliance and platform standing

We don’t publish the exact weighting behind these factors, and that’s on purpose. If the formula were public, it would be easier for bad actors to game their metrics artificially instead of building a real audience. That would come at the expense of the creators who are putting in the work and growing their communities the right way.

Who’s eligible

A channel with an active moderation strike, an unresolved compliance issue, or a history of engagement manipulation isn’t eligible for featuring, no matter how strong its numbers look. Featuring is a privilege tied to good standing on the platform, not an automatic reward for raw numbers.

Keeping it fair

Featured placement rotates across languages and regions, so exposure isn’t concentrated on a single audience or genre. We’re also building a full audit trail for featuring decisions, so every placement can be reviewed and explained after the fact.

What featuring isn’t

Featuring is curated, not fully automated, and it’s not for sale. We don’t accept payment for homepage placement. Featuring a channel also doesn’t mean we endorse everything on it: featured channels are held to the same standards as the rest of the platform, and they can be actioned or removed the same way.

💡 The best way to earn a featured spot is the simple one: build a genuine, engaged community. That’s exactly what our signals are designed to reward.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay to get featured?

No. Featuring is never for sale. Homepage and category placement is curated by our team based on the signals above.

Why won’t you share the exact formula?

Keeping the exact weighting private protects creators. A public formula is something bad actors could reverse engineer to fake growth, which would push out creators building real communities.

I lost my featured spot. What happened?

Placements rotate, so exposure naturally shifts around over time. It can also change if your channel’s standing changes, for example after a moderation strike or a compliance issue. If you think something’s off, reach out to Support.

Does being featured mean KICK endorses my channel?

No. Featuring helps Viewers discover content. It isn’t an endorsement, and featured channels follow the same rules as everyone else.

Still have questions?

If something still isn’t clear, reach out to our Support team through the Help Centre, and we’ll help you sort it out. When you get in touch, it helps to include:

  • Your KICK username

  • Your channel, if your question is about a specific one

  • A short description of what you’re asking about
