Getting started with the KICK - Go Live app

KICK - Go Live is our dedicated mobile streaming app for iOS and Android. It is designed for Streamers who want to broadcast directly from their phone — perfect for IRL streams, on-the-go content, mobile gaming, or anywhere your desktop setup cannot follow.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know to download the app, set it up, and go live for the first time.

What is KICK - Go Live?

KICK - Go Live is a standalone app, separate from the main KICK viewer app. It is focused entirely on mobile broadcasting and includes features like:

  • Dual-camera streaming — front and back camera at the same time, perfect for reaction content or IRL. (Not supported in some android devices)

  • Screen sharing — broadcast what is on your phone screen directly to your channel

  • Full stream settings — bitrate, resolution, framerate, stabilization(IOS only), and more

  • Stream from anywhere — no laptop or capture card required

KICK - Go Live works for any KICK account. You do not need to be an Affiliate, Verified Streamer, or Partner to use it.

Downloading the app

The app is available on both iOS and Android.

Device requirements

To run KICK - Go Live, your device needs to meet these minimums:

Platform

Minimum version

iOS

18.0 or later

Android

8.0 or later

If your device is older than these versions, the app may not install or function correctly.

Before your first stream

A few things to set up before you launch the app for the first time:

Grant camera and microphone permissions

When you first open KICK - Go Live, your phone will prompt you to allow access to your camera and microphone. Both must be granted to stream. Without them, the app cannot broadcast video or audio.

If you accidentally deny permissions:

  • On iOS: Open Settings > KICK - Go Live > toggle Camera and Microphone on

  • On Android: Open Settings > Apps > KICK - Go Live > Permissions

Make sure your account is in good standing

The app uses your existing KICK account. If you have any pending issues with your account (suspensions, restrictions, etc.), resolve them before trying to stream.

Signing in

Open KICK - Go Live and sign in using your KICK credentials (the same email and password you use on kick.com). You can also use Google/Apple sign in.

If you have Two-Factor Authentication enabled, you will be prompted for your 2FA code during sign-in.

Setting up your stream

Before you go live, set up your stream details inside the app. You can configure:

  • Stream title — what your stream is about

  • Category — what content you are streaming (Just Chatting, a specific game, IRL, etc.)

  • Content labels — 18+ label and other classification labels where appropriate

  • Stream quality — bitrate, resolution, framerate, stabilization(IOS only) (see Settings and stream quality on the KICK - Go Live app)

💡 You can adjust all of these from inside the app — there is no need to switch to kick.com on a browser to set them.

For tips on writing strong titles and choosing the right category, see:

  • How to attract new Viewers: titles, presentation, and timing

  • Content classification labels: when to use them

Going live

Once your stream is set up:

  1. Tap the green circle button

  2. Confirm your settings

  3. Your stream is now live on your KICK channel

You can begin streaming with your camera, swap to dual-camera mode, or share your screen at any point during your stream. For details on these features, see Dual-camera and screen sharing on the KICK - Go Live app.

Watching chat from the app

While you are streaming, you can see your chat in real time within the app.

⚠️ One important limitation: you can read chat from the app, but you cannot respond to chat messages from the app. If you want to reply directly in chat, you need to do so from a desktop browser or a separate device.

For most mobile Streamers, this is fine — you can still acknowledge Chatters verbally during your stream, react to what they say, and engage with the community through voice. If you have a Moderator team, they can handle chat moderation actions on your behalf.

For more on building a Mod team, see How to Moderate Your KICK Chat.

After your stream ends

When you end your stream:

  • Your stream is automatically saved as a VOD on your channel, the same way desktop streams are

  • Viewers can watch the VOD on your channel page on kick.com

  • Your stream stats (Viewers, follows, subscriptions, etc.) are available in your Streamer Dashboard

For more on VODs, see KICK Stream Replays / VODs and My VOD is missing or not appearing.

What you cannot do in the app

A few things still need to be done on kick.com in a browser:

  • Respond to chat messages — chat is read-only in the app

  • Manage Emotes, badges, and channel settings — these are configured on the web

If you need any of these, log in to kick.com on a desktop or mobile browser.
