How to gift a subscription on KICK

Gifting subscriptions is one of the most generous ways to support a Streamer and their community. When you gift subs, you give other Viewers access to subscriber perks at the same time as supporting the Streamer.

This guide walks you through the gifting flow, what to expect, and the most common questions about gifted subs.

How gifted subs work

When you gift subscriptions on KICK:

- You pay the subscription cost (flat $5 per sub)

- The Streamer receives the revenue under the standard 95/5 split

- The recipients get full subscriber perks for the duration of the gift (typically one month)

- You also unlock subscriber perks on that channel as the gift giver

For more on how revenue and the 95/5 split work, see Understanding KICK's revenue split.

How to gift a sub

The full flow takes about a minute.

1. Click "Gift a Sub"

Visit the Streamer's channel page and click the Gift a Sub button. This is located on the user's profile, near the Subscribe button.

2. Choose the amount

A window will open where you can choose how many subs you want to gift. You can:

- Pick from preset amounts

- Enter a custom quantity

The maximum is 500 subs in a single gift transaction.

3. Pick who receives the gifts

You have two options:

- Gift to a specific Viewer — choose a particular user to receive the sub

- Gift to the community (random subs) — KICK distributes the gifts randomly among Viewers in the channel

4. Enter your payment details

Another window will appear where you select your payment method and enter your card details.

KICK currently supports payments through Stripe, which accepts major cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express).

5. Confirm the purchase

Review the details and confirm the gift.

6. Done

Once payment goes through:

- The Streamer receives a notification and the corresponding revenue

- The recipients (specific Viewer or random Viewers) receive their subscriber perks immediately

- An on-stream alert plays to celebrate the gift

- You receive a gifted subscription badge next to your username.

- The Streamer's revenue and Creator Dashboard balance are updated

What recipients see

When someone receives a gifted sub:

- They get a notification that they have been gifted a sub

- Their subscriber badge appears next to their username in chat

- They can use the channel's subscriber Emotes across all of KICK

- They have access to subscriber-only chat mode when the Streamer enables it

The recipient does not need to do anything to claim the gift — it activates automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. When you start the gifting flow, you can choose to gift to a specific Viewer or to the community.

Can I gift to the community without picking specific people?

Yes. Choose the "gift to community" option (also known as random subs). KICK distributes the gifts randomly among Viewers in the channel.

What is the maximum number of subs I can gift at once?

500 subs in a single gift transaction. You can also enter a custom quantity below this limit.

Do gifted subs count toward Streamer Achievements?

No. Gifted subs do not count toward Streamer Achievements.

Do gifted subs auto-renew?

No. Gifted subs are one-time gifts and do not automatically renew. The recipient gets subscriber perks for the duration of the gift (typically one month). After that, the recipient can choose to subscribe themselves if they want to continue.

Can I gift to a channel I am already subscribed to?

Yes. You can gift subs on any channel, regardless of whether you are subscribed yourself.

Is there a limit on how often I can gift?

The 500-sub limit is per transaction. There may be additional rate limits applied to prevent abuse, but these would only affect very high-frequency gifting.

What payment methods can I use?

KICK currently supports Stripe for processing payments, which accepts major credit and debit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express), KICK also offers alternative ways to pay, including Google/Apple Pay, PayPal, Cash App, and Amazon Pay, depending on availability in your region.

Can I cancel a gifted sub after sending it?

No. Gifted subs are non-refundable digital content once the transaction completes. This is set out in our Terms of Service.

The recipient already had a sub. What happens?

In this case, reach out to us via email, as it's not intended for someone who has a sub to be able to receive a gift.
