If you have ever wondered exactly what kind of content or behaviour can lead to a suspension or ban on KICK, this article gives you a clear breakdown.
KICK supports a wide range of content and aims to work collaboratively with Streamers to address issues. Most violations result in warnings or smaller actions before escalating. However, some categories of content carry such serious harm that immediate and severe action is taken regardless of context.
How KICK decides on enforcement
When our moderation team reviews potential violations, we consider the full context. This includes:
Your intent behind the content
Your level of involvement in escalating a situation
Your reaction as events unfolded
The outcome and impact of what was streamed
External influences beyond your control
Your channel history
A Streamer who acts responsibly when something unexpected happens will be treated differently from one who deliberately escalates or fails to address the issue.
⚠️ Some violations are zero-tolerance. For high-impact violations such as the protection of minors and incitement of terrorism, context will not mitigate enforcement. Action is taken regardless of intent or surrounding factors.
Enforcement actions on KICK
Enforcement is proportionate to severity and frequency. Possible actions include:
Warnings: Delivered in chat, by email, or post-stream
Chat muting: Temporary restriction on chat access
Revocation of privileges: Loss of access to specific platform features
Added restrictions: Limits applied to your channel or account
Content removal: Specific content taken down
Temporary suspension: Account paused for a defined period
Indefinite suspension: Account paused without a set end date
Permanent ban: Account closed permanently
Repeated violations result in increasingly severe enforcement. Your channel's suspension history (frequency and types of past bans) influences future moderation decisions.
What can lead to a warning or suspension
The following list is not exhaustive, but covers the most common reasons Streamers face enforcement action. For the full set of rules, see the Community Guidelines.
Content violations
Pornography or excessive nudity — including suggestive content that crosses into prohibited material, sexual extortion, or content that does not involve consenting adults
Failure to age-restrict 18+ content — not applying the 18+ label when required
Hate speech — content targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or other demographic identifiers
Extreme violence or graphic gore — beyond what is reasonable in context (such as professional sports)
Animal abuse — including illegal hunting or unnecessary suffering
Self-harm content — promoting, encouraging, or instructing acts that pose serious risk to personal safety
Misinformation — false or widely disproven content that can cause real-world harm
Undisclosed AI-generated content — synthetic media that mimics reality without clear disclosure
Deepfakes or voice clones — particularly those depicting private individuals or non-consensual intimate imagery
Copyright infringement — including playing copyrighted music or content without rights (see DMCA Policy and Music on stream: what you can and cannot play)
Behaviour violations
Doxxing — sharing another person's private personal information without consent (addresses, contact details, banking information, etc.)
Coordinated harassment — coordinating attacks against another user or group
Impersonation — using usernames deliberately similar to other Streamers, or pretending to be someone you are not
Scams or fraud — fraudulent services, malicious links, deceptive practices
Botting — using bots or scripts to artificially inflate Concurrent Viewers, followers, or chat activity
Engagement manipulation — third-party tools to inflate metrics
Ban evasion — creating new accounts to bypass a suspension on another account
Game cheating — using unauthorised hacks, cheats, or exploits in competitive multiplayer games
Public safety violations
Swatting or false emergency reports — content that triggers unnecessary involvement of emergency services
Pranks designed to incite fear
Dangerous activity — driving recklessly, reckless operation of machinery, or any conduct that creates serious risk of physical harm to bystanders
Harassing the public when streaming IRL — exploiting unwilling participants or vulnerable individuals
Gambling violations
Streaming illegal gambling — gambling content from jurisdictions where it is not legal
Audience-funded gambling — using funds provided by Viewers (buy-ins, sweepstakes, etc.)
Sponsored gambling on unlicensed platforms — only licensed gambling sponsors are permitted
Failure to disclose gambling sponsorships — not declaring affiliate links clearly
Failure to age-label gambling streams
Zero-tolerance violations
These violations result in immediate enforcement, typically permanent bans, regardless of context:
Any sexualisation, exploitation, or harm of minors — including CSAM in any form
Streams featuring minors without parental supervision
Inciting, promoting, or displaying terrorism or violent extremism
Recruitment, propaganda, or radicalisation on behalf of recognised terrorist organisations
If you encounter content that falls into a zero-tolerance category, report it immediately through the Report button or contact [email protected].
What does not lead to suspension
Equally important is what KICK does not punish. The following are explicitly permitted, provided they fall within the broader Guidelines:
Strong opinions, including controversial or unpopular ones
Heated debates and disagreements
Suggestive content involving consenting adults, properly age-restricted
Animal content involving regulated hunting or cultural practices
Violence in professional sporting events
Sharing political opinions (subject to applicable law)
Gambling, where legally permitted and properly licensed
Discussion of sensitive topics such as mental health (with care)
Brand partnerships and sponsored content (with proper disclosure)
AI-generated content (with proper disclosure)
KICK supports responsible freedom of expression. The line we draw is around content that incites harm, deceives, or violates the rights of others — not around content that is simply edgy, controversial, or uncomfortable.
What if I am close to the line?
If you are unsure whether your content might cross a line, here are practical steps:
Read the Community Guidelines carefully
Use age labels and category selection accurately
Disclose paid partnerships and AI-generated content clearly
Be transparent about gambling sponsorships
Use chat moderation tools to keep your community in line
Be mindful of what you say about other people — particularly real names, addresses, or personal details
