To receive payouts on KICK, including subscription revenue, and Bounties, you need to verify your identity with Stripe. Stripe is the payment provider KICK uses to handle creator payouts safely and in line with financial regulations.
If your verification has been rejected or you are stuck partway through the process, this guide covers the most common issues and how to fix them.
For the full setup process, see How to Verify your identity with Stripe.
My ID was rejected
Stripe has strict requirements for the ID documents they accept. The most common reasons an ID gets rejected are:
Photo quality. Glare, blur, low light, or cut-off corners can cause automatic rejection
Expired ID. The document must be currently valid
Unsupported document type. Stripe accepts specific document types per country (typically passport, driver's licence, or national ID card)
Name mismatch. The name on your ID must match the name you entered during onboarding
To improve your chances of approval:
Take photos in good, even lighting (natural daylight works best)
Make sure all four corners of the document are visible
Avoid glare from screens or lamps
Use a flat surface and a high-resolution camera
Submit the original document, not a photocopy or screenshot
💡 Many Streamers find that retaking the photo with better lighting fixes the issue on the second try.
My name does not match my KICK username
This is fine. Stripe verifies your legal name as it appears on your government-issued ID. Your KICK username does not need to match your legal name.
What needs to match is the name you enter into Stripe and the name on your ID document. If those do not line up, Stripe will reject the verification.
My address verification failed
Stripe verifies your address using bank statements, utility bills, or other proof-of-address documents. To pass address verification:
Use a document dated within the last three months
Make sure your full name and address are clearly visible
Avoid screenshots of online statements unless they include all required information
Submit a document type Stripe specifically requests (utility bill, bank statement, or government-issued letter)
If your address has changed recently and your ID still shows your old address, you may need to update your ID before verification can complete.
My OTP is not arriving
Stripe sends a One-Time Passcode (OTP) by SMS during onboarding. If yours is not arriving:
Make sure your mobile number was entered correctly, including the country code
Try adding a leading zero to your number if you did not include one
Click Resend Code in the Stripe interface and try again
Check your phone's blocked or filtered messages folder
Confirm your phone has signal
Some carriers delay or block automated SMS codes, especially internationally. If the code does not arrive after several attempts, try again from a different network.
Stripe is not available in my country
Stripe is available in most major countries, but not all. If Stripe is not available where you live, you will not be able to set up monetisation on KICK at this time.
We are continuing to expand our payment partnerships. Keep an eye on our changelog and announcements for updates on supported regions.
How long does verification take?
In most cases, Stripe verification is completed within a few minutes if all your documents are clear and accurate. For more complex cases, it can take up to a few business days while Stripe reviews the submission.
If your verification has been pending for more than a few days without an outcome, you can contact our Subscriptions Team for help.
I want to update my Stripe details
To update your bank details, address, or other Stripe information:
Log in to your KICK account
Visit your Streamer Dashboard
Go to your Revenue or Payout settings
Open your Stripe details and make the changes you need
If you have moved countries or had a major change in your circumstances, you may need to redo verification.
Still having issues?
If your verification is stuck or has been rejected and you cannot figure out why, contact our Subscriptions Team at [email protected]. Please include:
Your KICK Streamer username
A description of where in the verification process you got stuck
