My VOD is missing or not appearing after my stream

My VOD is missing or not appearing after my stream

When you finish streaming on KICK, your stream is automatically saved as a VOD on your channel page. If your VOD is missing, has gaps, or is not appearing as expected, this guide walks through the most common causes.

How long does it take for a VOD to appear?

VODs are not instant. After your stream ends, KICK needs time to process the stream into a saved video. This usually takes a few minutes for shorter streams and longer for longer ones.

If your stream just ended, give it some time before assuming there is a problem. Check back in 15 to 30 minutes for shorter streams, or up to an hour for longer ones.

My VOD is still not showing

If your VOD has not appeared after a reasonable wait:

  1. Refresh your channel page

  2. Check your Streamer Dashboard, where you can see all your saved streams

  3. Log out and log back in

  4. Try a different browser or the KICK app

If the VOD is in your dashboard but not showing on your channel page, the issue may be with privacy settings (more on that below).

My VOD ends partway through my stream

If your VOD cuts off before the end of your stream, your stream may have disconnected and reconnected during broadcast, splitting it into multiple VODs. Check your dashboard for additional VODs from the same date.

If you only see one VOD and it ends prematurely, contact our Technical Support Team. Details below.

How long does KICK keep my VODs?

VODs on KICK have a retention period. After that period, they are automatically deleted unless you have downloaded them or saved them elsewhere.

If you want to keep a VOD permanently, download it before the retention period ends. See How to download your KICK replays for instructions.

💡 If you stream regularly, build downloading important VODs into your routine. Once a VOD is auto-deleted, we cannot recover it.

Can I make a VOD private or sub-only?

You can adjust who sees your VODs through your channel settings. Options may include:

- Making a VOD public so anyone can watch

- Making a VOD subscriber-only so only your subs can watch

- Hiding or unlisting a VOD so it is not shown on your channel page

- Deleting a VOD permanently

To change a VOD's settings, go to your Streamer Dashboard and find the VOD in your list of saved streams.

My VOD is missing from my channel page but still in my dashboard

If you can see your VOD in your Streamer Dashboard but it is not appearing on your public channel page, check:

- Whether the VOD is set to private or unlisted

- Whether the VOD has finished processing

VODs that are still processing will not appear on your channel page until they are ready.

Did my stream save at all?

If you cannot find your VOD anywhere, even in your Streamer Dashboard, the stream may not have been saved. This can happen if:

- The stream encountered a technical issue during processing

- You ended the stream very soon after going live

If you believe your stream should have saved but did not, contact our Technical Support Team.
