Subscription Badges: What They Are, How They Work & How to Add Yours

Updated over 2 months ago

If you're building your empire on Kick.com, you’ve probably noticed those little shiny icons next to subscriber names in chat. Yup — subscription badges. Tiny, but mighty. These flex loyalty, build community, and just straight-up look cool.

So let’s break it all down.

What are Subscription Badges?

Subscription badges are small icons that appear next to a viewer’s name in your chat after they subscribe to your channel. Think of them as status symbols — they show off how long someone’s been riding with you.

Sub badges are more than just flair — they’re a sign of loyalty, identity, and growth. If you’re serious about streaming on Kick, customizing these is a must.

Badges change based on how long someone’s been subscribed:

  • 1 month? Starter badge.

  • 6 months? You get a glow-up.

  • 12 months? You’re basically a VIP.

Why do they matter?

  1. Reward loyalty: Your OGs deserve recognition.

  2. Look clean in chat: They make your stream feel more pro.

  3. Encourage subs: People love to collect progression badges.

  4. Build identity: Customize them to match your brand.

How to Add Subscription Badges on Kick?

Kick’s tools are evolving, but here’s the most up-to-date method:

1. Become a Kick Affiliate or Partner

You can't add sub badges unless you’re in the Affiliate or Partner program. That means:

  • You’re monetized.

  • You’ve got a sub button.

  • You're collecting that sweet 95/5 split.

2. Create Your Badge Set

You’ll need image files (PNG format, transparent background) and you can design them yourself.

👉 Pro Tip: Keep the theme consistent and on-brand.

3. Upload Your Badges

You’ll upload them through your Kick Creator Dashboard:

  1. Go to kick.com and log in.

  2. Click your profile icon → Creator Dashboard;

  3. Navigate to Channel → Community → Sub Badges;

  4. Upload each PNG in its respective time slot (1mo, 3mo, etc.);

  5. Hit Save.

Done. You’re official now.

How Do They Work In Chat?

Once someone subscribes:

  • Their sub badge appears next to their name automatically.

  • As time passes, Kick will auto-update their badge as they hit loyalty milestones.

  • No manual work on your end. Sit back and let the badges do the flexing.
